The CULTURE 2000 Community Programme established for seven years (2000-2006) is approaching its end and it is going to be replaced by the CULTURE PROGRAMME (2007-2013).

The main objective of the Culture Programme is to help enhance the cultural area shared by Europeans and based on a common cultural area through the development of cultural cooperation between the creators, cultural players and cultural institutions of the countries taking part in the Programme, with a view to encouraging the emergence of European citizenship.

The Culture Programme will continue in its predecessor's footsteps in aiming to provide funding for quality projects which encourage innovation and creativity and provide real European added value. This programme is also open to the participation of all cultural sectors and operators.
