Serbia: Partners wanted for two Culture Programme projects

Theatre Mimart and Omen Theatre are two Serbian associations working in performing arts and contemporary dance. Both of them are now working on two different projects to be proposed for funding under Culture Programme, and are looking for partners to cooperate with.

Theatre Mimart, founded in Belgrade in 1984, is mostly concerned with the exploration of movement as a phenomenon of non-verbal communication in theatre.  Over twenty years, Mimart aimed at implanting the power of non-verbal and interactive art process into intercultural communication. The Chosen One - Experimental ritual performance in nature or inside is the project Mimart is now working on, and for which is looking for partners. The project is meant to explore through dance and theatre the mythical world of fairies, returning magic in theatre by linking inner and outer world, micro and macro-structures, reality and spirituality.

Further information on this project can be found on Mimart’s website (www.teatarmimart.org.rs) or by writing to Nela Antonovich, artistic director of MIMART (mimart_na@hotmail.com).

The second Serbian organisation looking for cultural partners is Omen Thatre, a non-partisan, non-governmental and non-profit association of artists whose goal is to contribute to the development of contemporary art and theatre. Throughout the years, Omen Theatre has worked on a number of projects and initiatives, and the last one is Stepping Out - Learning Media and Publicity for Active Approach.

Through the organization of workshops, lectures, debates and other initiatives, this project aims to empower high school students from Serbia and Balkan region coming from different political, social, ethnical, educational and religious background, to articulate their opinion on their life and the society they live in and to express it in an analytic way in order to show understanding of the current status of the youth in the Balkan region. Organisations interested in taking part in this project can contact Gordana Lebovic (Omen Theatre director) or Maja Vukovic (project coordinator) on omen.te@eunet.yu and find more information on www.web-stage.org/omen.
