Cultural Cooperation EU – Mexico
The Country Strategy Paper 2007- 2013 has opened the way to Eu-Mexico cooperation relationships. For this period of time, cooperation will center on trade and competitiveness, social cohesion, including human rights and education and culture.

A second phase of this programme has just been approved. The National Council for Culture and the Arts and the National Fund for Culture and the Arts are now responsible for the administration of the Fund. The featured budget of EUR 6.8 million will be contributed to equal parts by the EU and the Mexican government.
Moreover, the European Commission is currently working with the Secretariat of External Relations and the National Council for Culture and the Arts on a joint Declaration formalising this dialogue and strengthening the cooperation in the cultural area.
