Civil Society Facility - Regional Programmes: "Support to Partnership Actions between Cultural Organisations" (Deadline 1 June 2010)
The overall objective of the Civil Society Facility, of which this Call for Proposals forms part, is to strengthen civil society within a participative democracy, stimulating a civil society friendly 'environment' and culture.

This call for proposals aims to develop a strong regional partnership dialogue between Civil Society Organisations from countries receiving support under the Instrument of Pre-accession Assistance (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey and Kosovo) and with their EU counterparts and public authorities as well as to enhance the transparency and the accountability of Civil Society Organisations.

Cooperation between Civil Society Organisations should contribute to promoting the principles and values of the European Union in potential member states in the region, respecting the sensitivities of the countries involved and enhancing regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations.

European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards (1st October every year)

The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards are granted annually by the European Union and Europa Nostra in order to recognise, celebrate and promote best practices in the conservation of tangible cultural heritage throughout Europe. The protection and enhancement of European cultural heritage in all its forms - architectural heritage, cultural landscapes, works of art and archaeological sites, and their related tangible and intangible aspects - are among the priorities of the European Union's Culture Programme.

The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage was launched in 2002 by the European Commission as part of the implementation of its Culture 2000 Programme. Europa Nostra was selected as the organisation responsible for the running of this Scheme on the basis of its long experience in publicly recognising excellence in the field of heritage. The purpose of this European Heritage Awards Scheme is to promote high standards of conservation practice, to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and experience throughout Europe, to enhance public awareness and appreciation of European cultural heritage, and to encourage further exemplary initiatives through the Power of Example.
